Are you looking for a holiday destination in the bohemian forest, in the middle of the green heart of Europe on the largest lake in the Czech Republic? We have 3 beautiful holiday homes at the Lipnolake in the south of the Czech Republic, 90 kM from Passau, 60 kM from Linz.

We are happy to rent to you one of these houses / apartments for a few days away or a summer or winter holiday.

The Lipnolake 

Lake Lipno is located at an altitude of 725 m in the south of the Czech Republic, near the Austrian border. 200 km south of Prague, 90 km east of Passau, 55 km north of Linz. It is the largest reservoir in the Czech Republic with a length of 40 km and a width of 8 km. Lake Lipno is a popular holiday destination in both summer and winter. Ideal for water sports enthusiasts, but also for sports, nature and culture enthusiasts

You can do many sporting activities on and around Lake Lipno, both in summer and winter.

In summer the lake invites you for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, fishing, motor boating or boat trips. But you can also canoe or raft at various places on the Vltava River. Many activities are possible around the lake, such as: cycling, skating, mountain biking, tobogganing, walking.

In winter you can ski at Kramolin, Sternstein and Hochficht. Cross-country skiing in various places on the north and south side of the lake. Ice skating and ice sailing when there is ice on the lake.

You can also fish in Lake Lipno. A fishing license is required. Fishing boats can be rented at various places around the lake.

You can enjoy a view of Lake Lipno and the surrounding area from various viewing towers. In Lipno nad Vltavue there is Stezka Korona, in Horni Plana there is a freely accessible observation tower in the Adelbert Stifter park and on the south side of the lake you can visit the castle ruins Vitkuv Hradek in Sviaty Tomas, crowned by a beautiful view over Lake Lipno and, with good weather even a view as far as the Alps.

 

Bohemian Forest / Sumava

The surroundings are fantastic: hills, mountains and vast forests where you can take beautiful walks and bike rides in unspoilt nature.

Along the lake are the holiday towns of Horní Plana, Frymburk, Lipno nad Vltavou, Přední Výtoň and Nová Pec.
The west side of Lake Lipno is located in the Sumava National Park (the Bohemian Forest). The area is beautiful for cycling and walking tours. The Vltava also has its source in the Bohemian Forest.

Culture

Less than half an hour from Lake Lipno is the UNESCO protected heritage site, Ceske Krumlov. The Vltava meanders through the middle of the city center. Stroll through the winding streets and admire the many different colorful historic facades. Visit the castle with its many showrooms and views of the city or visit the round tower with a fantastic view of the city and the surrounding area.
